To celebrate our opening during the month of August 2013 our 4 bed dorm rate is only $19 per person per night!
Rock Solid Backpackers is newly refurbished spacious hostel located in the centre of downtown Rotorua.
New local owners Barry and Vanessa Miller have taken over an abandoned hostel located in an oversized office block in need of lots of TLC and created a spacious yet welcoming inner city accommodation that everyone from the intrepid backpacker to the school camp, club or family holidaymaker can afford and enjoy!
They are also the only hostel in Rotorua with a rock climbing facility running the full height of the building which can be viewed from the comfort of their lounge through the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the 17 metre high rock climbing wall. So you get a birds-eye-view without leaving your sofa! Or if you feel like bit of arty culture check out what's on in the Basement Arts Cinema downstairs too!
The large comfortable guest lounge is the hub of the hostel where you can enjoy free WIFI to check your emails or enjoy the different weekly fun nights.

In General a very nice and clean hostel with a friendly staff, however the room I stayed in only had a tiny window which resulted in the room being very hot

Nice hostel, there are one modern and one older part and the older kitchen areas is very dirty and without a window. The modern area is great tho.
