Very nice and calm hostel in a safe neighbourhood of San Jose. Always fresh fruits for breakfast and a super friendly and helpful staff. Totally recommend staying there!

Amazing hostel and friendly staff and the hostel is located in a nice area!
The kitchen was always super clean, just the floors in the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Anyways, I would come again!

Casa Escalante is a really nice hostel for a one or two night stay in San José. It's located in a really safe area of the city but clubs and bars are not too far (you can walk).
The staff is a family and everyone is really really friendly and tries to help you. The only problem is that nobody really speaks English so if you don't speak Spanish you should reconsider staying or just be prepared for it.
The bathrooms are really really tidy and hostel is too.
In general I would totally recommend it.
