Our small, bamboo and wooden made Hostel create a feeling of home and good vibes. Easy and chill out environment with the Caribbean Touch.

Roots is built in an open, typical carribean style and located at the heart of Puerto Viejo, only 100 meters from 'Parquecitos' Beach, 5 minutes walk for bars and restaurants and 300 m from the Bus Station.
The Beds in the Tree House Dorm provide bamboo and cane features as own locker (space enough for suitcases), lamp, outlet and a lot privacy!
The house has different common areas to enjoy and gather and have a good time while meeting new people. We have a common kitchen for use with all the implements and filtered Water. All beds have a mosqutio net.
We have the cutest cats and our Dog Jamie loves to give kisses.
Roots Family Policies and Conditions:
check in: 15:00 - 19:00
Please let us know when you arrive after 7pm to assure someone is around.
check-out: before 11:00
Check-outs after 11.00 will be charged 50% of daily Rate (Roots can store your bags if you leave the same day or come back to us with another reservation. We assume no liability for your bags.
Taxes not included - 13.00%
Payment in cash on your arrivaldate - Dollers or Colones
Cancellation Policy
Full Charge If cancelled within 1 days of arrival
30% of Full Stay - If cancelled within 2 days of arrival
No Charge - If cancelled within 3 days of arrival
The minimum age for check-in is 16
No private parking available. Public parking space around the Hostel - Roots family does not take legal responsibility for damage or theft.
Guests must be quiet between 22:00 and 07:00
Common kitchen is usable between 07:00 and 22:00
Pets are not allowed
Smoking is not allowed
Towels included in the private rooms - For the Dorm $3 per towel for use during your stay
We charge $3 in case of losing a key
we project release from any liability in case of natural disasters, loss of personal belongings, damage to your health or safety.

Das Hostel is sehr süß und das Personal sehr nett. Man muss aber sagen, dass es ein Barfuß-Hostel ist. Das wussten wir vorher nicht und fanden das nicht so toll. Außerdem musste man mit Wasser von außen selbst spülen. Aber war trotzdem sehr gemütlich.

Cooles und alternatives Hostel. Ich mochte die Vibes und mir hat der Bambus-Baustil echt gefallen! Man wird täglich über mögliche Aktivitäten informiert und ist nur einen Block von der Hauptstraße entfernt. Mir persönlich war die Küche etwas zu klein für die Anzahl an Gästen und das Zimmer war mit das stickigste der ganzen Reise.

Super nettes und gemütliches Hostel. Ohne Klimaanlage war es etwas warm. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett, nur wusste man manchmal nicht genau wer Mitarbeiter bzw. Gast war. Es gibt viele Infos zu den Möglichkeiten der Umgebung. Lage ist perfekt. Wir würden wieder kommen.
