Somewhere Special ist mitten im Gros Islet Fischerdorf, nur 20m zum Strand. Die Bushaltestelle ist ganz in der Naehe. Viele kleine, einheimische Restaurants und Bars wo man fuer kleines Geld einheimische Kueche genieesen kann. Pigeon Island National Park ist eine halbe Stunde zu Fuss.

This is a lovely place. It is located next to the street where the big street party takes place every Friday. Due to that (and some of the adjacent buildings) it can be a bit noisy during the night. If that doesn't bother you, it is the perfect location to meet locals and explore that part of the island live that happens outside the expensive resorts and hotels.

Gros Islet is the best place to stay in St Lucia. Everybody knows everybody. It’s close to the beach and to Pigeon Island. Also there is a supermarket close by. Claudia and her husband are really lovely. They helped us if we got any question. It’s a really small and to be honest not really comfortable bed and the bathroom is not that clean. They got like millions of mosquitoes ( but it’s everywhere). But all in all it’s a real adventure. You can learn how the local are living. We liked it!

There was a bar built in the pandemic that blares music unpredictably, there's no working air conditioner, the mattress is stiff, and the mosquito net has holes in them. The hostel is just some extra rooms in a house so if you are looking for a hostel to meet others you are better off at a hotel and meeting people through activities. I was sleep deprived, overheated, and with back aches the 4 days I was there and even with ~$40/night I felt it was very overpriced.
