Sovereign House is a heritage listed building, with high ceilings, extra large rooms and facilities, with wrap around verandahs and a cafe and bar on site.
Our dorm rooms are male, female or mixed and accommodate 6 people, ages 18-35, and there is no overcrowding here! Relax in one of the many shared spaces, or read a book in the hammocks, our hostel is the perfect stay while you're in Townsville. We are a short taxi or uber ride from the airport, we are literally across the road from the train station and a scooter or taxi/uber from the bus stop. The street we are located on is the main street in Townsville.

It is very dirty. The bed shed is dirty and the bathrooms are dirty too. There is only one room with a air conditioner. In the other rooms you have to pay for a air conditioner every half hour one coin. Also the washing machine and the dryer don’t working. There are no any supermarkets nearby

We were charged $30 too much when we checked in, was an oversight. We were told several times that we would get the money back, after three weeks still no money. Room was not clean, was a bit smelly. Kitchen was small, not many utensils. Room not lockable. Hostel was a bit dirty, it's cleaned only once a week. No one at the reception. For two days no toilet paper. No recommendation.
