Shuyuan Youth Hostel is located in the southern part of the central walled area of Xi'an, It's very convenient to many places you will want to visit, forget taxis you can walk to almost every location that you wish to visit, you truly are in the downtown area. While many local old buildings in Xi'an have been lost to the bulldozers of modernization, our hostel is a perfectly preserved traditional Chinese courtyard house. With several outdoor and indoor seating areas the atmosphere of our hostel is only matched by the friendliness of the staff. All of our front desk and restaurant staff speak English and will do their best to make your stay in Xi'an as comfortable and accommodating as possible. IN that same spirit we also offer a full host of tours and guides to Xi'an's most famous sites. The Xi'an transportation system is very reliable and convenient so the place that are too far to walk to are just a bus ride away, you can get around like the locals! In fact our hostel is situated right beside one of Xi'an's largest central roads with a bus stop only 3 minutes out the door! We are also only a 7 minute walk from the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and the Muslim Quarter. Walking up and down the main road you will find everything thing from a high class dining to local restaurants enough to facilitate all tastes and budgets. Behind our hostel, 5 minutes by walking, is Defu Lane which has over 30 cafes, bars and tea houses. Here at Shuyuan we try our best to make your experience in Xi'an and with as memorable as possible and so every Friday night we hold a free dumpling party, a perfect opportunity to get to know the other guests and our staff while at the same time experiencing one of the Xi'an's culinary traditions!
